Quartz 

Most Used & Modern

Foundation: crystalline mineral composed of silica / Man Made

Properties: Non-porous, acid resistant, harder than granite and glass

Common Uses: Kitchens, bathrooms, accent walls, fireplace, very versatile

Quartzite 

Similar to Marble

Foundation:  Composed almost entirely of the mineral quartz /  Natural

Maintenance: Needs to be resealed often 

Properties:  Acid resistant, scratch resistant, heat resistant, harder than granite and glass 

Common Uses: Kitchens, bathrooms, accent walls 

Granite 

Classic

Foundation:  Igneous rock composed of quartz, feldspar ,and mic / Natural

Maintenance: Needs to be resealed periodically 

Properties:  Acid resistant, scratch resistant, heat resistant, and mostly stain resistant 

Common Uses: Kitchens, bathrooms
