For all of our first-time stone owners here are a few tips to ensure you are properly taking care of your surfaces for long-term vitality. 

• Always use microfiber cloths to clean your stone surfaces. 
• Do not use harsh cleaners like bleach or Clorox to wipe your surfaces. Instead, use a small amount Soft Scrubs  applied directly on a damp microfiber cloth.
• Besides Soft Scrubs you can also use a small amount of dish washing detergent to wipe your surfaces.
• Bar Keepers Friend is also great for getting out those tough stains. 
• Avoid placing extreme and direct heat on ANY stone surface type. 

Granite

It is highly recommended to periodically reseal your granite surfaces every 15 years. You can check by leaving a puddle of water on the surface for about five minutes before wiping it up. 

If there is a visible dark spot where the water once sat then you'll know it is time for a penetrating sealer. 

You can either speak with us about resealing your counters or do it yourself by finding the sealer at your local home supply store.
